ROAD RULES

Flags
Safety is our first concern. Lapping Days provides a start/finish flagger and corner workers at all critical areas of the track. During your first session of each day, please take the time to note each corner worker and look for them every lap of the day. Be aware: there are elevation changes and tight corners. Remember that the flaggers are your eyes ahead.

Run Off
Look ahead for safe and clean run off areas. If you start to slide or spin, or your brakes overheat and don't think you can stay on the track, drive off straight (as if you meant to do it :-), and STAY off until you have slowed significantly and you are sure there is no one coming toward you. Don't go spinning off sideways. Desert track run off can be bumpy.

Passing Etiquette
Lapping Days defines passing rules based on the experience of the drivers in each group, and rules are addressed in the morning meeting prior to going on track. Regardless of the number and location of passing zones, passes are polite, and always done with a point by from the lead driver. We are not racing, we do not pass in corners.

Passengers
Drivers may NOT bring passengers on track unless that passenger is an instructor. If your friend would like to see the track, ask an instructor to take them out for a few laps. Passengers must be 18 yrs or older, and must sign waivers. Minors between 16 and 18 must have signatures of both parents on the waiver.

Convertibles
Convertibles may only run IF the car has "factory rollover protection" as specified by the manufacturer of your vehicle, or has a race spec roll bar, or full cage. If your car has a pop-up roll bar, we strongly suggest you ask your dealer to pop it up and lock it in place before you come to the track.

Helmets and Belts
Snell 2000 or 2005 helmets are required, full and open face are acceptable. We strongly recommend you wear glasses or a visor to prevent eye injury. Factory 3 point seat belts are required. Vintage car lap belts are not acceptable.

Ambulance
Lapping Days provides an ambulance on site at every event. Please don't use it.

Entry Gate
The track paddock parking generally opens at 7:00 AM. Try to be there early and get your car ready for the day well in advance of the 8:00 driver's meeting. Safety dictates that you empty the passenger compartment, glove box, and trunk, then check tire pressures, torque lug nuts, and wash windows. Be ready early so you aren't rushing when your run group is heading onto the track.
