Fellow Drivers, Happy New Year! Thanks to all of you, driver attendees and instructors, for making our 2007 Lapping Days Driver Development Program a success. Jeff and I certainly had fun this past season at the Miller Motorsports Park, and we look forward to even more excitement this coming season.
The 2008 Lapping Days Driver Development Program will build on the 2007 format, with plenty of new ideas to help all of us improve. Each day is structured with on-track in-car instruction, as well as class sessions to discuss braking and cornering techniques. Our program is designed to help ALL levels of driver improve their knowledge of driving dynamics, in all makes of track worthy street or race cars. We cater to all levels of expectation, from "I want hours of track time with my friends", to "I'm going racing and want to learn more...". Precise car placement and control can make fast lap times virtually drama free. However, there are many skills that factor into this, and we intend to expose you to as much as we can throughout the season.
Much of our program goes back to to the basics of traction sensing and car control at speed. We'll split drivers into 2-3 run groups, depending on vehicle and experience. Plan on 3 1/2 hours of track time each day, with specifically tailored class and on-track instruction for those who want to learn more. Corner entry, corner exit, carrying speed, putting the power down early. Lead-follow, off line driving, early and late apex drills, and segment timing are just a few of the exersizes we'll offer. WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO Founded by Jeff Blonder and Bob Read, Lapping Days is committed to bringing you fun filled, well organized track days in your favorite sports car. Our track events enable drivers to become even safer, better, and more consistent, refining driving techniques in a supervised, controlled environment.
"What makes Lapping Days superior to the other events are the common interests and abilities of the drivers. Everyone loves having as much track time as you can handle each day. Everyone there values safety ... There is a casual atmosphere that makes it fun and easy to want to come back...again....and again...and again! Great job!" Tony Broadbent
Lapping Days has evolved dramatically over the past few years, and now offers instruction to all levels of driver from novice to advanced. There are daily drivers meetings, corner workers on track, ambulance and track insurance in place. Drivers are required to maintain a safe and teched vehicle at all times, have respect for the flag (along with mom and apple pie) and passing rules, and smile! Lapping Days provides as much track time as possible, with morning run group sessions and afternoon open track, over 3 hours a day of driving.
" Bob and Jeff have assembled a great group of drivers who bring years of experience to the track. Many are very seasoned instructors as well, making this group an excellent place to learn the safe and proper way to enjoy the track, polishing old skills and adding new ones."
Carl Buckland
Our goal is simple: to provide all levels of driver with hours of safe track time, in a small and intimate group. For those new to the track, we provide guidance and instruction. Every attendee is personally known by Jeff or Bob, or comes recommended by one of our fellow drivers. If we haven't met you yet, feel free to give us a call.
"I had a great time and really appreciate running with you guys. The organization was fantastic and I really appreciate the focus on safety and prescreening of drivers." Curt Croshaw
"I am not sure how everyone else feels, but over all this was the best event I have attended. Good track, great organization, perfect amount of cars. But mostly, I would have to say the people made the whole event. Everyone I spoke with was delightful and courteous, on and off the track. Thanks again!" Todd Chapman
THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES
We personally want to thank all of you for your skilled driving and polite, curteous conduct this past season. We'll see you next summer at the track! Jeff & Bob info@lappingdays.com
